Fitness Travel: The Best Treat You Could Ever Give Yourself

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Each of us has different ideas on how to define a great adventurous vacation. Some of us define an adventurous trip by setting off the highway on a road trip, conquering a mountain on a hiking getaway or sleeping in the wild on a camping trip. The common denominator for these kinds of vacations is to go outdoors. With the goal to experience the outdoors in mind, give yourself an amazing treat by having a one-of-a-kind adventurous vacation – a fitness spa vacation.

To go on a Fitness Travel is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Being able to bring home sweet memories of an incredible mixture of nature experiences and the relaxing confines of a fitness spa resort is just an amazing experience. Top that off with the most delightful, mouthwatering and, most importantly, healthy cuisines that the world can offer.

There is a definite correlation between the words “fitness” and “spa”. While they do differ in literal definition and a lot of other ways, the end-result they offer to us is basically the same. Whether engage yourself for hours in a fitness activity or lay down on your chest for a soothing massage, you are sure to leave the gym or the spa feeling refreshed, reinvigorated and rejuvenated.

Fitness Spa Vacations are gaining popularity. It is perhaps because of the fact that these vacations show us that keeping ourselves healthy is not just all work and no play. The programs are varied, and are prepared by an incredible and knowledgeable team of health coaches. These programs consist of physical challenges that have different levels of difficulty. For example, hiking trips are offered in easy, moderate and difficult treks. No matter the difficulty level, however, these hiking trips are guaranteed to be supervised and facilitated by a professional and well-experienced hiking guide. In addition, before setting off for any of the offered activities, a physical assessment is done to check on the types of activities your body can endure. The activities must be not too easy and not too difficult. The main objective, besides giving your mind and body a total work out, is that you enjoy your trip.

These amazing vacations are experienced in Fitness Spa Resorts. These resorts are usually situated far from the sights and sounds of the busy and fast-paced surroundings that you deal with everyday. They are found in remote and exotic areas close to nature – a rain forest, an ancient city or a relaxing body of water. You might also find a couple in a major city, but they are confined in a quiet and tranquil environment. They aim for you to have, not only a good physical shape, but also a healthy and de-stressed mind.

Food is arguably one of the things visitors look forward to experience when visiting a new place. One might even say that it is through food that you truly get to know a new place’s culture. The objective of %keyword1% is to have you in a great physical shape. That is why %keyword2% have nutritionists that develop nutritious, well-balanced and exquisite menus made up of the local favorites in proper servings to make sure you only consume and achieve the recommended daily nutritional level intake.

Luxury Spa Vacations combine rugged adventure and pampered sophistication. After an all-out vigorous workout, you have the wide range of options for relaxation. There are muscle-soothing massages and various facial treatments offered, including anti-aging facials! You even have the option of attending yoga and meditation classes as well as other relaxation techniques.

Health Spa Resorts send out a sophisticated impression. Some might even think of them as a luxurious and extravagant way to spend a vacation. At the same time, there are those who think of them as a necessity to escape and relieve themselves from the stressful environment that they live in. Treating yourself with this kind of pampering is not being selfish, lucrative and impractical. It is merely taking care of yourself, beefing yourself up with a stronger mind and body in order to cope with your unending busy life. After all, going on a Fitness Vacation is bound to yield nothing but positive results.

Three Things I Like About Travel Which I Am Meant To Hate

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Airports. Flying. Hotels.

We are meant to hate them all . But I love them all - all three are fantastic travel experiences. Here’s why.

Airports.

Are exciting places. You can always feel the great breadth of human emotions swirling through them. Whenever I’m in one I’m always going somewhere interesting, going home or with somebody who is doing one of these. So there is always some kind of significant emotion happening.

I love the departure lounge, the feeling of anticipation. I love going through customs. Shopping for duty free. Hugging and waving goodbye. Though I’m totally with Douglas Adams, the author who once wrote “It is not by accident that no culture on Earth has ever come up the phrase ‘as pretty as an airport’”.

Flying

Is amazing. To begin with, every time you fly you do something every single human who ever lived before 1900 dreamed of doing but couldn’t. Think about that - Da Vinci, Caesar, Shakespeare, Newton - people who accomplished phenomonal things. All would have given much to have experienced what exhausted businessmen complain about.

Anyway flying is fun. You get enforced closure from the world so you can sit there and read, write, watch films, play games, think or whatever without distractions. How often do you get the chance outside of flying. Stewards bring free food and drink to you. Great little meals inside cute little compartments.

You get phenomenal views outside your window. You get to travel to the other side of the planet. Or a city near you. Very quickly.

Hotels

Hotels are cool. You get a perfectly made up room. And its neat. You get to feel excited as you unpack.

Weird things in hotels are fun. The tight bedsheets. The folded arrow shape on the toilet paper. The long and trippy hallways.

The reason we travel is to experience things anew, to feel fresh and alive. Whether its a resort, a backpacker hostel or something else. We travel for the experience. All of it. Even the bits we are meant to hate.

Your Belongings At Airport Security

Friday, September 26th, 2008

If you have recently taken a flight or plan to, chances are you have seen information on the air travel rules. These rules include a wide variety of different topics, issues, and items; however, perhaps, one is more important than the rest. That air travel rule is the list of items that are prohibited from being taken on an airline, whether that ban only be for your carryon luggage or both your carryon luggage and checked baggage. Unfortunately, there are some mistakes that are made. If you, intentionally or not, forget to remove a prohibited item from your bags, do you know what will happen to you or to that item?

Your Belongings at Airport Security
When it comes to prohibited items in airports, you will find that different consequences result. These consequences tend to depend on the airport you are in, the airline you are flying with, as well as the item that you were trying to get through security checkpoints. Essentially, if you were trying to sneak in a bottled water, the consequences would be far less than if you were trying to sneak in a gun, but there will still be consequences none the less.

The most common action taken, when it comes to trying to board an airplane with prohibited items, is that you will be pulled aside by airport security or other airport staff. All bags, including checked luggage, are usually checked with you nearby. This is done to help ensure that no prohibited items are found. In the event that you are trying to store prohibited items, such as flammable objects, in your checked luggage, you will likely be asked to take the item to your car. In the event that you cannot, you may have to turn that item over to airport security. The same can be said for prohibited items in your carryon luggage.

In most cases, you will be given an option as to what you want to do with your items. That is why it is advised that you arrive at the airport in advance. Two hours early is often the recommended time. This will ensure that you are able to made additional accommodations, should you find that you are prohibited from taking some of your belongings aboard the airplane. As previously mentioned, if you are unable to make accommodations for your belongings, you will have to turn them over to airport security. If you are like most other travelers you may be curious as to what happens with those items. More about Travel.

Great Kosher Resort Getaway on Kosher Vacations

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

When it comes to Jewish Vacation, Kosher Resorts are very popular to the members of the Jewish and Samaritan communities. These kosher resorts are filled with guests that are devotees who wish to celebrate and make the most of the various Kosher Holiday and festivals.

Jewish Vacation, of course, have different kosher tours that are filled with programs that are in keeping with the Jewish tradition and practices. In addition to that, the excursions that the kosher resorts offer are adventurous and educational, making your kosher vacation even more fun!

Jewish Vacation bring you to the most untouched and beautiful vacation destinations that the world has to offer. There are tours that take you to some of the most beautiful and marvelous places in the United States like Wyoming where a Wild West experience is offered. There are some tours, on the other hand, that take you to some of the most remote and exotic places outside the United States. Some of these places are Costa Rica, Spain, Italy, the Mediterranean and more. Different activities are offered in these various places. You can go whitewater rafting, explore volcanoes, get lost in rain forests, horseback riding, river cruising, diving, snorkeling and other beach adventure activities (which, depending on the location of the Kosher Resorts, include close encounters with marine animals like dolphins). These excursions are facilitated by professional tour guides who narrate educational information and anecdotes about the places that you visit. This gives you the opportunity to open your eyes to the grandeur and appreciate the beauty of the land that you are walking around on.

While Jewish Vacation offer adventurous physical activities, Kosher Resorts, wherever they are located in the world, offer indoor activities and facilities that all observe the Jewish tradition. For instance, during Passover, the first two nights in a kosher resort are spent with Seders. Aside from keeping the Jewish tradition, the Seders also serve the purpose of having all visitors or participants meet as they share the meals together, before they all set forth for an adventurous trip on the succeeding days. During Rosh Hashana, on the other hand, Shabbat services are held in Kosher Resorts. That gives the observant Jews the chance to be able to do their daily obligations to say their prayers during their Jewish Vacation.

Observing traditional Jewish practices, especially during Kosher Holiday, Kosher Resorts promise that they give a great deal of importance in kosher food as a major part of every participant’s kosher tour. Kosher Resorts make an observant lifestyle and an exciting travel experience with good food co-exist by combining kosher tours with the destination’s local authentic cuisine. Glatt kosher meals are a guarantee. Everything that is served on your table has gone through a team of inspectors to make sure that the food has passed Glatt kosher standards. All the ingredients necessary to prepare sumptuous meals are strictly examined to be sure the kosher resorts serve nothing but Glatt kosher meals of the highest quality.

The Roads Less Traveled In Seattle

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

If you are in the process of making plans to visit Seattle Washington, I’m sure you’ve checked out all kinds of information about what there is to do and see in the area. There are many things that make all of the must do lists because they offer appeal to the greater population rather than things that would appeal to specific segments of population.

I consider myself young, hip, and fun loving. While there are many things on the mass lists that I find appealing, I really like going off the beaten path just a little bit and finding things to do and places to see that aren’t going to be overcrowded, overpopulated, and simply overdone. I like to find something that not every other tourist in the city is going to be standing in line in front of me to do. Here are a few of the nifty tours and other things I have found to do in Seattle.

The Roads Less Traveled in Seattle
The first one on my list is the Private Eye on Seattle Murder and Mystery Tour. There are three tours offered, the Queen Anne Murder and Mystery Tour, the Capital Hill Tour (which each cost $25 per person and lasts about two and a half hours), and Haunted Happenings, which is also known as the Seattle Ghost Tour (this tour lasts about 3 hours and is also $25 per person). These are great for any fan of true crime or simply dusty old detective novels. They are not however, tours I would recommend for the squeamish or faint of heart. I recommend any one of these tours or all of them if possible. They are a great way to spend your time while in Seattle.

After a trip with Private Eye on Seattle, you simply must check out the Seattle Museum of the Mysteries, which is a museum dedicated to the study of paranormal sciences. This is the only museum of its kind in Washington State. If you have any interest in Big Foot, UFOs, crop circles, ghosts, or just enjoy legends, lore, and tall tales, then this museum should be right up your alley. Even if these things aren’t vitally important in your day-to-day existence, it is still really interesting to see the artifacts that have been collected and to hear the stories that are being told.

Coming back to the world of the living, one of my favorite places in Seattle is a little bit crowded with tourists; however, it is well worth dealing with a few more people if you ask me. That place would be Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. I’m not sure if my fascination with this place stems from my love of science fiction movies and literature or simply from the contribution that science fiction has made on society in the last few decades. Perhaps it is a slight combination of the two. Or maybe it is just the coolness factor alone. For whatever reason, this museum is a favorite of mine and I hope that you will feel the same way about it after you visit.

Travel in Seattle
If you are visiting the Science Fiction Museum, you might seriously consider purchasing a combination ticket for the Experience Music Project. Separately the project is a tad expensive but when you purchase a combo ticket for both you save enough money to take the sting out of the visit. If you are a music lover, particularly rock and roll, then this experience is one well worth having. The price is somewhat prohibitive if you are visiting on a budget but if you plan carefully you can manage savings in other areas that will make up for the cost.

There are so many fascinating things to do, see, and experience in Seattle and the surrounding areas. I hope that I have introduced you to a few things that are a little off the beaten path and yet offer something of interest to you at the same time. The most important thing to remember when visiting Seattle, Washington is that vacations are fun and that is what you should have-lots of fun.

Practical Recommendations About Malaysia

Malaysia Vacations for Everyone

I am a Malaysian and I invite you to make Malaysia your destination of choice for your next vacation. If you want to relax by the beach, trek the jungle, shoot the rapids, climb mountains, parasail, windsurf, scuba dive, snorkel or do any other such things, think Malaysia. If you wish to vacation where East meets West, think Malaysia. Malaysia has it all. Skycrapers such as the Petronas Twin Towers, state-of-the-art facilities, world class accommodation, international and local entertainment, global and regional brands are all found in Malaysia. At the same time, lush rainforests among the oldest in the world, exotic plants and intriguing animals, majestic mountain ranges and iridescent and pristine seas that hug miles of unspoiled beaches all find their home in Malaysia.

Is it expensive? Not at all! A vacation in Malaysia is very affordable compared to many other countries in the same region. $1 is approximately RM3.30 and one can vacation in Malaysia for literally a few dollars a day. Backpacker lodges and motels are aplenty all offering the thrifty traveler very reasonable accommodation at affordable prices. Other countries in the region may be cheaper but offer so much less in terms of places of interest, things to do, entertainment spots and recreational facilities.

If you are seeking a quality vacation with a difference, I will share with you what is in store for you in Malaysia.

If you are the adventurous type, try climbing to the peak of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, East Malaysia. At 4096 m (about 13, 350 ft) high, it stands head and shoulders above all other peaks in the Crocker Range. It is the highest mountain in South-East Asia. But the unique thing is that its summit is just below the snow-belt and that means anyone even without specialist training or equipment can climb to its peak as long as you are fit enough. I have personally done it myself and it was an exhilarating experience!

Did you know that the very first series of ‘Survivor’ was shot entirely at Pulau Tiga, a tiny island part of Sabah? Then there are the Mulu Caves in Sarawak, the largest cave chamber in the world. Walking into its interior is an experience like no other. In Malaysia, you can find the largest flower in the world, the Rafflesia. Catch a glimpse of the Proboscis monkey, the species of monkey with the largest and most prominent nose of all or scuba dive into some of nature’s most beautiful coral-laden waters swarming with colorful sea creatures you have never seen in Redang, Perhentian or Sipadan Islands. Try eating the durian, a thorny fruit with a distinct taste and smell. The durian is called the King of Fruits by the locals.

If you are the city-loving type, enjoy the sights and sounds of metropolitan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city. Mega shopping malls that sell international brands of goods and services, street bazaars that promote local products and souvenirs and roadside vendors that sell trinkets are all found here. Be entertained at Malaysia’s world-class entertainment spots such as Genting the City of Entertainment. Genting Highlands also houses Malaysia’s premier casino where you can try your hand at all sorts of games of chance.

For the culturally inclined, you can catch fascinating cultural dances, traditional occupations such as basket weaving, kite flying, top spinning competitions, batik (a local style of cloth and design) printing, traditional music and plenty more. Buy locally made handicraft of all kinds as a remembrance of your visit. Muzium Negara is the national museum of Malaysia. It houses a plethora of artifacts, displays and exhibitions that detail the history, tradition, culture and lifestyle of Malaysia.

If you want to learn about the history of Malaysia, there is no better place to visit than Malacca. The state of Malacca is where the earliest settlers to Malaysia first arrived. In Malacca you can still see remnants of previous colonial powers that ruled Malaysia centuries ago. The remains of the famous fort A Formosa built by the Portugese in the 16th Century still stands, as do the Stadhuys, unique brick-red buildings built by the Dutch about a hundred years later.

All these wonderful experiences await you in Malaysia. Whatever you would like to experience or enjoy, come to Malaysia and discover it for yourself.
